Velvet pants for the cold season!!!

Sorry, I've been away from my blog for a month...I guess I didn't have much to say!!! I havwe not been busy with shopping...but I did purchase skinny velvet pants in black and grey from Ann Taylor....when it fits why not get two pairs right? The grey ones are a bit difficult to match....but goes perfectly with this black turtleneck, don't you think? I can basically wear them at work or during the weekend!!!

Definitely a keeper...

I don't need a full week to confirm that the Yu-be cream is a keeper...I used it one time and I already see  a big difference!!!! Let me share my purchase of the day... I stopped by Target today, trying to find a winter coat for my daughter, turns out I found cute boots for me... casual boots for the weekend. Only 30$, I should definitely stopped there more ofter...great finds!!!

New product....

When the cold weather arrive, I always struggle with very dry skin in my face. Tonight I decided to fight... I stopped by Sephora and bought a Japanese cream that is apparently the best treatment for dry skin and rash!!! The name is Yu-Be....I will let you know in a week if it's a "coup de coeurl"!!!!Talking of dry skin...it's time to start using hand cream again, yes it's this time of the year!!! My favorite is l'Occitane Shea Butter hand cream, the small tube is easy to carry.

Today's outfit and today's advice!!!

I've been asked how I was able to drop all the extra weight that I had put on with my pregnancy...the key is to stay focus and off course with the help of Weight Watcher, exercise....I think November is a good month to start, that will give you 8 months before summer....bikini season. So, let's stay focus and let's drop those extra pounds!!!!

You've seen all the element of this outfit, it's basically just a different combination. We should all study our wardrobe in order to do that...think ahead also while you are buying new things!!!

Did I already mentioned how much I love fall...boots, fur, sweaters.... It's just great, so easy to get inspired in the morning to dress!!! This is actually a scarf...see you can make the most of everything.

Making my own bread!!!!

I decided to start making my own bread, not because I'm saving money but just for the fact that I know exactly what I'm eating....The satisfaction of bitting into your own creation is priceless....Now you are asking how I manage to find time....organisation is the key!!!!

We love sweater dress, great fall trend!!! It was a bit hot today, so instead of boots, rocking my pumps....You will definitely see it this winter with thights and boots.

Today I had a reception to attend during the day...so I need a little extra fabulosity, I believe that my dramatic neckacle did just the trick! I think the jacket brings the office look to the outfit....

I just love fall...the weather, the smell, the clothing. Today, I can finaly wear my nice brown boots with a baby doll dress..... this outfit is so comfortable. The dress is H&M only $24.95...I'm serious!!!

Today's outfit...dedicated to my daughter!!!

This morning my daughter had a really strong feeling about choosing her outfit, so I decided to let her. Wow, I must say she is really stylish already, imagine a 2 1/2 years old choosing this combination....I can't believe it. Oh and she apologizes for the water on her shirt....she just had just finished brushing her teeth!!!!

Beauty routine...

On the beauty products side I keep it really simple, I don't wear a lot of makeup and one of the main reason is that I don't have the time.

Facial cleanser: I alternate between the Clinique: liquid facial soap and the Erno Laszlo: sea mud soap that I order online.
Facial cream: I love Pat Wexler anti-aging cream, you can buy it at Bath & Body Work (they often have great deal on it)
Body cream: I am totally crazy about Philosophy: Amazing Grace, I love the smell, texture and the price.
Daily makeup: Really simple; Sephora foundation and loose powder. For the cheeks, I discover a few months ago Tarte Amazonian Clay (stay for 12 hours) and mascara will always be Dior show (nothing can beat it....)I don't really wear lipstick, I like my lips bare, so I just Fresh Sugar lip treatment and the lemon smell is great.

Et voila, I am ready for another glorious day!!!

Rocking my rain boots today. With a little black dress that I bought from Ann Taylor last year... Good call on the rain boots, I love them and I think they are really stylish, don't you think? My bracelet is from H&M, 2 years ago, I think it was under 15$, what a bargain.

Today's outfit...

Red shoes it is today...I love those shoes but they are not really comfortable! This little black dress is very versatile, I wear it at the office and during the weekend with flats. The best thing about this dress is that I paid only 35$ for it at H& M.
On another subject, I just ordered new black pumps from Calvin Klein...and guess what? Everything is 40% off, hurry while it last.

Rainy weekend!!! Most wanted accessory...

Since it's suppose to rain the whole weekend in NYC.....better make the most of it....what about some cute rain boots. For me Tretorn boots, less expensive than Hunter boots (about half the price) but still really cute....And for my daughter, I couldn't resist the Crocs boots in pink...just adorable!!!

I just realized that on my last today's outfit, I'm wearing the same blouse but in a different color....I love my animal print belt!!! Animal prints are fun to wear, but careful it's easy to make a fashion "faux pas"!!!

Today's outfit is my silk blouse that you all seen before, I must confess that I have this blouse also in black. I love the safari look of it and it's very versatile, I can wear it with jeans during the weekend or at the office. Did you notice that I'm wearing pants today....I'm more a skirts/dresses person, I guess the "girly girl" in me!!!

Silly face....

My photo for today's outfit is quite silly, but after reflection I decided not to take another shot. What makes it even more silly (beside my expression) is the fact that I was dress for winter today, only because yesterday I was freezing cold...turns out today was not so cold. I was sweating like a pig in the train.... Anyway here's the outfit of the day....let's call it a sneak peek of the fall's outfits!!!

Busy, busy....

I had a really busy day in the office today, lots of changes!!! Usually I'm really organized but...today, I was a mess... Sorry for the delay for today's outfit, but I really wanted to post it, because you will see that dress on me several times, with different combinations...shoes, boots, thights, jacket, etc...

I'm back....

I took a few days off from work (actually only 2 days - Monday was labor day). I was most of the time at the playground with my daughter...not really fashionable....playing in the sandbox, water sprinklers!!! Today I'm back in the office...

We survived the hurricane...now back to work in style of course!

I stayed the whole weekend at home because of hurricane Irene.... My daughter and I stayed in PJ's all day on Sunday, playing games and dancing, that was some really good family time.
Today's outfit includes a silk blouse that I purchased 40% off on sale at Banana Republic (remember that last sale I was talking about...) and the necklace is actually a gift from my husband.

Fall is definitely around the corner....

Yesterday, when  I reached the mailbox....alleluia....September issues. It feels like Xmas. I will have a blessing week going through once, twice and many more times, comparing what I've seen in the stores and the haute couture presented in those bibles of fashion. Most important I love, love the smell of these issues, it's almost like they pre-selected the perfum's sample they will offer. The size cannot be carried bu perfect for the bedside reading for the weeks to come!!!!
(I must confessed that I have way too many magazines subscriptions...but I do not regret them at this time of the year)

Black is just so classic, I can't help it...see what I mean. Anyway this necklace is so dramatic that I can only wear it with black....

Monday already....

I feel that Monday we need to look more dressy... I usually try to wear a jacket and put my hair in a bun. This skirt is really versatile, I can wear it during summer bare legs with pumps and winter with nice opaque thights and tall boots. I love this necklace, it was a gift from my mommy!!!!

Bad weather this weekend!!!

Why don't we all take advantage of the bad weather this weekend to look through our closet....prepare for the new season, make a list of the must have for Fall. It's also time to send your clothes to the cleaner including jackets, coats etc...We can start to think about putting your summer wardrobe away by purchasing a few space bags, NY closets are not that big so make the most of them.

Redefine Casual Friday....

Switch your casual Friday's jeans for a little dress and some cute flip flops....This dress is actually too big for me, I recycled it with a nice belt which define the waist....

Sharing a recipe....

Today for lunch, I just tossed some spaghetti with shrimps, brocoli, carrots sundried tomatoes in olive oil, garlic, fresh basil, lemon zest, salt and pepper....quick, easy and healthy!!! I always bring my lunch, it's easier to keep track of what you are eating and I like cooking too!!!

Rainy day..no problem!!!

I'm kinda of weird....when the weather is grey, I like to bring some joy to the day!!! This dress is amazing....everytime I wear it, I have lots of compliments. The collar gives the look... a sophisticated feel....and of course the low ponytail....

I just order a silk safari blouse and a pair of brown boots.....building my fall closet!!!!
When you get some good deal try to think ahead, I obviously don't need boots in the middle of August but I will certainly enjoy them this fall!

I am very often in black, I just love black outfits, so classic!!! So when I wear something a bit colorful my colleagues tend to go crazy... Today I brought the wildness to my outfil, this blouse is so light, I purchased it from Ann Taylor a year ago...

This is me....

I am a 30 years old mother and I work (more than full time). Fashion is my thing, I love it!!! Unfortunately my wallet doesn't allow me to high scale fashion, so I'm doing my best to keep it fashionable and simple in a budget..... I am always running in the morning to get to work and at night to try to have a little family time. I am not one of those women who can transit with high heels, I commute in flip flops, flats or winter boots depending the season.

This whole blog thing is new to me...I hope you will follow me and indulge some "faux pas"!!!!
